Septic Tank Installation

Before a septic tank can be installed there are a lot of factors to be considered. With a lot of rules and regulations surrounding septic tanks it can be confusing, our team are here to put your mind at rest and make sure the septic tank is installed correctly, efficiently, and up to standard.

New rules for septic tanks we brought in on 1st January 2015, treatment systems have to meet these specifications by 1st January 2020. If you are planning on selling a property with a septic tank, these changes must be made before you can sell.

Soakaways/Reed beds

Soakaway systems are designed for properties where it is not possible for land drainage to link to the main sewage system. Soakaways and reed beds act as storage for the storm water, which is then cleansed, filtered, and slowly released into the ground.

Soakaways do require some maintenance, particularly older systems which can become blocked with silt over time. Our team provide a full maintenance and repair service for soakaways, as well as installing new systems.

Herringbone Drainage

Herringbone drainage is a popular system, particularly for playing fields, large lawns and irregular shaped areas. The drainage system consists of one main pipe, with numerous pipes connecting to it at a 45 degree angle.

This particular design is favoured over other systems as it does not require deep excavation, however it can be more complicated. It is important to consult an experienced contractor before installing new systems. We have many years of experience with installing a range of drainage systems, and we are happy to discuss the best options for you.

Land Drainage

Some areas are prone to waterlogging, this could affect gardens, sports pitches or agricultural land. Land drainage systems need to be carefully considered so that the most efficient and effective system can be installed.

Excess water can damage the landscape and affect the quality of the land, so a well-planned drainage system needs to be installed to prevent this.

There are a number of options to suit all purposes and types of land, our team are here to help you decide which system is best for you.

Culvert Clearance

Culverts allow excess water to drain away through an external drain line.

Culverts need regular cleaning and maintenance, particularly after heavy rain as they can become blocked with silt, mud, leaves and branches. We use specialist equipment to clear the culvert, and repair as necessary if the blockage has caused any damage.

Our team can also arrange regular checks on your culvert to prevent any blockages and damage occurring.
